GovCamp is part of a movement of so-called unconferences — events that are community run and open to everyone, typically at no charge. It’s purpose is to bring together governments, public institutions and citizens to explore the idea of Government 2.0 and ways in which social technology can change the way services are delivered.
The first GovCamp Canada took place at the University of Ottawa on May 31 and June 1 and our own Matt Salvatore was there. Public Affairs podcast host Mark Blevis met with Matt to discuss the event and some of the ideas he was exposed to.
By the way, GovCamp Toronto is scheduled to take place June 17, 2010.
